A delegation of Big Industries recently attended the Cloudera Sessions which took place in the Old Truman Brewery in London. We were looking forward to explore the latest trends in machine learning, analytics and cloud.
It has been an exciting year for Cloudera. The company raised $225 million in an initial public offering, launched new products including Cloudera Data Science Workbench and Altus, and introduced Cloudera Shared Data Experience (SDX), Cloudera's unified data management framework for security, governance and lineage.
The plenary session was led by the CTO and co-founder Dr. Amr Awadallah who shared his views on machine learning, artificial intelligence and the future of Big Data analytics. Amr was joined by Brian Goral from Cloudera Fast Forward Labs who talked about their research into applied machine learning. Matt Aslet from 451 Research shared his latest insights on cloud execution.
The plenary session continued with customer testimonials from BT, Dyson and the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The morning was concluded with a panel discussion on cloud.
Over lunch and during the network breaks we had the opportunity to meet with other Cloudera partners like StreamSets, Privitar, Datameer and others.
In the afternoon, we had the chance to design our own agenda spending time during breakout sessions on topics like GDPR, Data Science, Customer 360, Cloud, Streaming Data, IoT, cybersecurity and cloud.
The day was concluded with a networking reception. We relaxed and reflected on the day with peers over some drinks an nibbles. Next year, they see us definitely again.
